— Management information system, or MIS, broadly refers to a computer-based system that provides managers with the tools to organize, evaluate, and efficiently manage departments within an organization. In order to provide past, present and prediction information, a management information system can include software that helps in decision making, data resources such as databases, the hardware resources of a system, decision support systems, people management and project management applications, and any computerized processes that enable the department to run efficiently. Since tourism is now growing all over the world, the role of hotels is becoming greater than before. Hotels take a big place in the market, so using manual system may lead to erroneous management. Therefore, using a computerized system is more efficient. This system can't operate alone in a hotel because it concentrates mainly on reservation processes. The system needs an accounting system and a management information system so it can serve all the needs of the hotel effectively.

This study conducted both open end and closed end questions which were developed and sent to the front desk personnel in the hotels three hotels mentioned above.The Results identified a number of positive and negative impacts of ICT in hotel management and also the number of responded and non-responded questions in the questionnaires that were shared.

The place and the function of the information technology in the business strategy of the hotel enterprise determines its accomplishment, success and competition factor in the world market. The strategy of development of new information technology in the hotel management business is the principal factor of business strategy of each hotel enterprise. The large number of data in the hotel information system must be analyzed and changed into "true knowledge" and all this is not possible without existence of professional hotel management. Hotel management utilizes the information technology in order to improve the possibilities of decision making and to increase the guest satisfaction. The hotel management is successful if a high quality hotel product and the maximum profit are realized.

This project examines the aspect of the hospitality industry which is Hotel management. In the 21st century the use of the internet, computers and other electronic devices have made handling different jobs and aspects of management very easy. This project is the design and implementation of an electronic hotel management system that provides proper management of data and transactions in a centralized and organized manner and also provides a user friendly interface with which the user can interact easily with the just little or elementary knowledge of operating computers. This project is designed to create a platform that allows booth the user and administrator to keep track of transactions like room reservations, room booking, financial administration of the hotel, staff record keeping, online reservation and other day to day activities involved in the running and management of a hotel. The implementation is based on the requirements for a hotel management system. The project work is divided into five major categories which are; Front Desk, Accommodation, Catering, Finance & Account and Personnel Staff Record (Human resource management). This project accomplished the task of building a system that ensures accurate record maintenance which was done through proper identification of customers and the proper designation of user functions with most of the processes being done automatically. An electronic hotel management information system is required to assist management of data in the hospitality industry and also to make the entire hotel management process easier. The project was designed with the use of Microsoft visual Studio which is an integrated development environment made by Microsoft. It can be used to develop console and graphical user interface applications along with windows form application websites. The database system was created using Microsoft SQL server (MSSQL).

—This paper highlights the utilization of management software in the hotel area of the canton Machala and the benefits that generates the implementation of this software on the different hotels of the city. At present one has seen clearly that the benefits of management software are very wide for the reduction of the time or process automation, based on this problem, was found the need to investigate the advantages of the software application in hotel companies, and to acquire new forms for to improve the economy area. For this there has been established a study that will allow to analyze the profitability reflected by the RevPar of the hotel by means of the fulfillment of regulations to verify that beneficial aspects exist in the hotel companies, as well as also the quality of the services of the hotel and the capture of decisions that they carry out in the already mentioned companies. Hereby, with the implementation of this technology in the hotels, we estimate an increase in the profitability in the activities realized by the companies regarding the reduction of costs, capture of decisions. For the reduction of costs is outlined the aptitude to be able to replace the human workforce for automated processes; in the capture of decisions there is analyzed the capacity that the manager of the company will possess to act by means of the information that provides the software to him. The results that will be obtained in the analysis for Machala's city, will confirm to themselves total or partially and will be described at the end of this work.
